Elegant Spaces was born out of a problem group builders know too well. Back in 2002, working behind a tile shop counter, we saw the same story play out every week:
A builder would walk in, ask, “Do you know a good tiler?” — we’d recommend someone. A few weeks later, they’d be back. Not because the tiler wasn’t any good — but because they were already booked out. This happened again and again. It exposed something bigger: builders were trying to scale with a subcontractor model that simply couldn’t.
As the volume housing market exploded, the pain points worsened. Builders were trying to deliver hundreds of homes per year using scattered, one-man-band tilers. It was unscalable and unsustainable. That’s when Elegant Spaces took shape — not as another tiling company, but as a structured tiling division that could plug directly into a builder’s workflow and scale alongside them.
